I am awaiting news from Julie in France as to whether Caly is in pup or not, will know tomorrow morning.  There is already a reservation list in place for this fantastic combination which I and Julie are really pleased about.  If you are interested then please contact Julie on 00334 7040 6833 or call on her website www.bavaruki.net

I am now in the process of looking for a nice male for Flair for Spring next year, and will hopefully find a nice male to compliment her.  Watch this space for further news.

27th May 2010

Great news news from Julie earlier this month that Caly and Aviston got a good mating so we are just awaiting for the scan now to see if she is having pups.  All being well and things go to plan a little trip to France will be in the offing !!!!!  Watch this space for any puppy news over the weeks.

Great news from Julie, Bavaruki Leo's in France, Caly has had hip results back and they are A:A.  Julie and I had a lot of searching for a suitable male for Caly's first litter as I am looking for something slightly different to bring to the UK and a gorgeous male has been chosen called Int. CH. Aviston Des neuf grains d'or.

Caly (Vectiseleon Calypso) lives in France with Julie, and the litter will be born at Julie's, all enquiries for this interesting combination, please call Julie on 0033470406833.  Her website is:  www.bavaruki.net and you can see pictures of Caly on there also.

Sorry for lack of news lately but been so busy, now updating pages.

Flair did very well at Crufts this year, gaining 2nd on PGB and then going on to get the RCC,  see her Show Results page for pictures etc.

Flair also did well at WELKS getting a 3rd place in Limit Bitch.

Xia did well at Manchester Champ Show In January at Stafford, gaining 1st in MPB and qualifying for Crufts 2011 at her 2nd show, see her details on her show results page.

I am really pleased that Midge has set up Area Co-ordinators across the UK and Scotland for Welfare.  I have been asked to be co-ordinator for the North which I have accepted and I look forward to working with Midge and all the other co-ordinators to help with Welfare.

Eysha went in last week to have her hips and elbows x-rays done, and are now awaiting the results for the scores.  Will be getting her eyes done early January 2010 and will be looking to hopefully have a litter with her Spring/Summer 2010.  Not decided on the Stud Dog as yet, but will update when I have picked one.

The next Fun Day is in beginning stages for Summer 2010 and will hopefully be on the Sunday 18th July.  Updates will be added as soon as the venue is organised.

Back in July my Roxy was unfortunately diagnosed with Anal furunculosis and has been on very high doses of medications to help combat this awful condition.  She is now thank god off all medication and the AF has gone, but for how long who knows !!!!  Hopefully it will stay away for a good while but there is no telling if and when it will come back.

Well back to reality now after a great holiday in New Zealand for 3.5 weeks.  I missed the dogs so much and it was great to get back to Leo hugs and licks, although they did sulk for a few days after I got back lol

Flairs pups eventually arrived on the 24th April after an emergency caesarian.  She had 4 boys and 3 girls, all good weights.  Unfortunately I lost one girl the Saturday evening to FPS but the other 6 pups are doing really well now and Flair as usual is a great mum and is so careful with the pups.  All pups are sold from this litter

On the 12th July 2009 I have been asked by Sharon Springel LCGB if I would organise a Fun Day where we can all gather and have a lovely day.  The purpose of the Fun Day will be for people to bring their Leos along for blood samples to be taken to be sent to USA for further research into LP/PN.  Please come along and support the day as there will lots of games, buffet, raffle and much more.  Please contact me to confirm if you are attending.

New litter plans - Spring 2010 I am planning to have a litter with Roxy (Vectiseleon Shalaye) and Kirsty and Paul's boy - Zeus (Sancholees).  This will be provided Roxy's Eyes, Hips and Elbows are okay.

Great news, Flair has been scanned and she is in pup.  Pups are due on the ground around the 23rd April and will be able to go about the 19th June '09.

REHOME:

The other week I went to look at a Leo X that was in kennels near me on the request of Midge from Leo Welfare.  Her name is Sally and she is a large Leo X with a Mastiff type head.  She is lovely natured and the kennel owner Gordon says she was taken in by the owners 6 months ago heavily in pup as they could not keep her !!!!!!.  Unfortunately none of the pups survived but Sally is now in good health and has just had a season after the litter and is much better than she was 6 months ago when Gordon rescued her.  She has been bought up with children (apparently) and gets on well with other dogs.  We are trying to find a good home for her where she will stay for the ret of her life.  If you are interested please contact Midge at LCGB Welfare or phone me for further details about her.

A very sad day yesterday.  My beautiful girl Ellie crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.  She had not been well for a couple of months and I had to finally say goodbye to her and give her peace.  New Memorial page set up.  It is still very surreal to me that she has gone but by talking about her and remembering the good times it helps to heal the pain I feel.

Flair and Lanta's details updated in Litters

Eysha is still getting better and better after a bad 22 months and is still off the steroids.

Ellie has not been very well the last two months.  She was doing a lot of moaning and groaning when she was lying down as if in some discomfort.  After several tests and conclusions we have finally got to the route of the problem - she has Pancreatitis and is now on pain killers and special Low Fat diet to try and calm things down.  She is still not 100% and if in the next couple of days she is not better she will be going in for a scan and x-ray to see what is going on and how severe the problem is.  Will keep you posted.

Roxy Show Results Updated

Ellie has been back to the vets for a yearly check up after her mammory cancer scare last year and it is still good news that she still has the all clear, so hopefully she will be fine now.

Eysha is still going from strength to strength and has now been off the steroids for 13 weeks and there is no sign of lameness now.  Her coat has grown really well with plenty of feathering on back end and tail which she never had before.  The dry scurfy skin has also gone.  Hopefully now she is going to get fitter and fitter from now on.

Certificate added to Flairs page for Temperament Asessment Pass

21st Sept' 08

Last weekend I took Flair and her daughter Roxy to the LCGB Temperament Assessment Day down at Cannock.  This was well organised by Sharon Springel and the assessor was Ian Dunstall.  Thank you to both of them for an enjoyable time.  I feel as an occasional breeder the temperament of my bitches is paramount before I have a litter.  Although Flair had a litter last year there was not an opportunity to have her assessed so I jumped at the chance this time.  I am very pleased as she has passed her assessment and was not phased by anything on the day.  Flairs daughter Roxy, although too young to pass or fail until she is two was also very well behaved and I will be getting her assessed again end of next year.  It is a pity that events like this are not attended in bigger numbers especially when people work hard to organise them for the Club and temperament is paramount in these beautiful dogs.

Good day at the Ashbourne Shire Horse Open Dog Show. Took Roxy (Vectiseleon Shalaye) to the show for a bit of fun and a bit of a training outing.  She got 1st Junior and then BOB, so I was really pleased with her.  One of Ellie's pups was there Inga (Vectiseleon Sagira) and she got 1st in PG class. This was great for her as it was their first time at showing. Well done Yvonne and Simon.

15th August '08

One of my puppy owners contacted me to say that his boy Louie (Flairs son) was in the September Issue of Dogs Today.  Purchased a copy and found his picture in an article about The Cold Wet Nose Show. Looks like he had a great day with his owner Keith.

14th August '08

Chaos rains in the house as I now have 7 leo's running about all day. Have got two of my pups stopping for 3 weeks as the owners have gone on holiday.  Lola is so like her mother Ellie and sister Eysha, gorgeous dark mask and eyes and lovely coat.  Lexi is Flair's daughter and Roxy's sister and she is the double of her mum and sister.  I have to constantly take a double take as I am ever sure which is which lol

Ellie is still being monitored every month now incase any more tumors appear but touch wood no more at the moment and she seems really well in herself so heres hoping that the Cancer does not come back now

Eysha is seeming to be getting stronger again now, down to one steroid every other day and still no lameness yet.  Time will tell again when she comes off them all together.

Flair placed 4th in PGB at WELKS 25th April' 08 under Joan Rushby out of 21 in her class.

Flair and her daughter Roxy were entered for the National at Stafford on the 9th may but was unable to take them as they both decided to come into season.

However I was very pleased to see one of Ellie's pups there from her first litter Alfie - V. Varamoush and he has turned out to be a fine lad, and he was placed 2nd in the biggest dog class on the day at National - PGD so another Vectiseleon pup going to Crufts next year. Picture of him below:

Some sad news recently, one of Ellie's pups died suddenly at a very young age with a suspected brain heamorrage - Hagrid (V. Dakarai) was a lovely lad with a fantastic temperament and he will be sadly missed by his owners.  Rest in peace young lad you will always be in our thoughts xxxxx

Eysha is still not right with her back leg and has now to be on steroids continually.  After further tests the leg is actually very strong and secure so there is no problem there, the vet has come to the conclusion that she does have Auto Immune Disease and will probably be on steroids for the rest of her life as we do not know what will attack her body next.  As usual she is very happy and wags her tail constantly and never complains.

Ellie is still clear of anymore Malignant Mammory Tumors so keeping my fingers crossed that the cancer may not now come back, but who knows what the future holds

Jem has had her pups - 8 boys and  girls.  Unfortunately we lost 1 boy and 1 girl through FPS within first couple of days. The rest seem fine, strong and active pups.

New pictures added of Roxy and Ozzy on their Gallery pages

Eysha is now off her steroids and seems to be fine and has not gone lame on her back leg yet.  I am hoping that this may now be the end of this all for her, and she can now mature on nicely.  She is such a sweetheart and has been thru alot but not once has she complained.

Took Flair to Manchester Champ Show and she won her class PGB.  I was so pleased as she had only had a litter 6 months before hand and looked good.

Got the news that I dreaded today that Ellie's tumor was found to be a malignant carcinoma and is a very invasive type of tumor.  My vet and I are both hoping now that it was caught early enough and that it has not spread or may not even come back.  Only time will tell now.

19th Nov '07  Very worrying day today had to drop Ellie off for an x-ray and tumor op.  It is the worse feeling ever not knowing if I would be picking my baby back up and bringing her home.

Ellie has come home, the x-rays are clear thank god, just have to wait for the biopsy results to come in now.

16th Nov '07  Roxy starts her puppy training tonight. We will soon see if she is as brave as she makes out lol

15th Nov '07  Took Ellie and Flair to vets for boosters and came away totally shell shocked.  My vet has found Mammory Tumor on Ellie which was quite large.  She is booked in to have it removed as soon as possible.

10th Nov '07  Eysha is back to no lameness again after only 48 hours on steroids.  Booking her an appointment to see a Chiropractor and see if she can pin point what is going on !!!!!!

8th Nov '07  Came down this morning and Eysha is again very lame on the left leg.  Absolutely baffled as to why this should happen.  has been 8 months now since her operation and she is still going lame.  Back on the steroids again.

29th Oct '07  Eysha is now off her steroids all together and I am just hoping now that she does not go lame again. So far all is looking good but only time will tell.

All the pups have now gone to their new homes except Grey Boy who is still looking for someone to love him.  The owners say that the pups are settled in well and are a joy to have.  Hopefully new pictures to be added soon under Gypsy Litter.

Eysha is now seeming to be going from strength to strength at last after a bad few months with constant lameness.  She has been on a hefty dose of steroids and is now being gradually weened off them.  She is putting weight on nicely now and her coat has got its condition back too.  So only time will tell now when she comes off the steroids if she continues to do well.

Kathy Hay has rung me to tell me that Lady - Vectiseleon Vivacious Lady at Wolfen has been scanned and is expecting pups around the 17th October.  So hopefully Ellie and I will be grandma's soon lol not bad at 43 !!!!!!!!

New Pictures of Flair in her gallery

10th July '07  Flair is now 41 days in, she was scanned a few weeks back now and approx 9 -10 pups probably.  She now has a bigger belly on her than me lol  She is so calm and laid back now and spends most of her day sleeping. 22 days to go now.

Eysha is now beginning to put good weight on both legs and she has perked up as well.  She seemed to go through a stage of depression on the steroids but I think she is over that now.  She is still doing the Hydrotherapy and will continue with that for a while to build her strength.

New Pictures of Luka's visit in V. Litter Gallery from end of June this year.  He is a big lad and stands 84cm, and he has a temperament to die for.  So pleased with him.

26th June '07 Flair has been scanned today and she is expecting puppies.  Pups due around 1st August fingers crossed.

Eysha is still very lame, although swimming her twice a week at Hydrotherapy and a Swedish massage once a week the lameness is still baffling me and the vet.    Have now put her on a high dose of steroids to see if this will help her at all as nothing else is wrong on the joint, as specialist has also given her all clear as well.

10th June '07  Eysha had her first Hydrotherapy session on Friday.  She really enjoyed it, and swam well.  Hopefully this will now strengthen her back leg so she can walk on it properly.  She has been so good through all of this never whinging, resting when told to do so.  She is such a real sweetheart.

New pictures added of Buddy at the seaside, Egyptian Litter in Gallery.

Still sitting and waiting for Flair, only 3 weeks to go before she is scanned.

2nd June '07 Great news, two successful matings with Nio and Flair, if all goes well puppies due around 2nd August.  She will be scanned in 4 weeks to see.  See Litters Page for details.

24th May' 07 - Nio is coming over this weekend from France, hope to get a mating at weekend or early next week.

Eysha had an operation about  9 weeks ago as she had damaged her cruciate ligament.  That has healed really well now, but she is still not very well.  Has seen a specialist for her back leg as she is in quite a bit of pain with it.  This is still inconclusive, so now waiting on the Path Lab results.

21st May '07 - New pictures of Buddy - Egyptian Litter, New Pictures of Luka and Simba - V' Litter

Also Autumn/Winter Jem will be mated with XXX

3rd May' 07 Flairs Hips and elbows have come back 5:4 and 0:0 elbows, so really pleased with that.  She will be mated with Nio (Bavaruki) sometime in May. Bookings already being taken for this fantastic mating.

27th March' 07 Great day today as I had a visit from a couple of Ellie's pups, Inga (mint girl) and Buddy (blue boy).  The sun was out all day and the pups were out playing on the front for hours.  Ellie was pleased to see them but also told tem she was still their mum.  New pictures added on litters page.

19th March '07  Was contacted by the local paper today, they wanted to do an article on me and the dogs, for the Saturday paper.  A photographer came up and took some pictures of me and the 4 girls.  The old adage never work with children and animals Springs to mind and it is so true.  Article will be scanned onto website soon.

16th March' 07 Took Flair to have hips and elbows x-rayed today, so now have to wait.  Have seen a nice dog that I tempted to use at the end of this year on Flair.  Details soon.

9th March '07 Wow what a day today, took Flair to Crufts for her first time, although she was a bit spooked at the tannoy system and the noise she soon chilled out on her bench for a sleep before her time in the ring. She was entered in PGB class and it was a large entry of 17 although 5 did not show.  As far as I can see she was the youngest in that class.  She was a true star today gaining first place in her class and my god did Glenda make us work for it as well, I must admit Flair is fit but I am going to have to start doing some stamina work myself to keep up with Flair now LOL.

28th February '07  Eysha passed her KC Puppy Foundation Assessment today with flying colours, onto bronze, silver and gold I think.  Such a calm, easy going puppy.  Nothing bothers her at all.  She certainly has the right attitude to do Obedience Competitions later on.

19th January '07 Well what a day today.  Flair went to Manchester Champ Show and was entered in PGB.  She got 1st place in her class and then went on to get the Bitch RCC at 20 months old.  To say I am delighted is an understatement LOL  Came home and ALL my girls had a slap up meal.  Well I do love them all equally.

11th January '07  After many months of trying to get Lola's nasty ear infection to clear up, it was decided to have the Total Canal Ablition done on her.  Pictures on her page. I must admit I was in tears when I collected her from the vets as she looked awful.  Just fingers crossed now that the operation has been successful

19th December '06 We had the Xmas Walk today and there was a good turn out of about 23 people with Leos.  There was a nice walk up onto the beautiful common and then back here for hot soup, hot-dogs, mince pies and mulled wine.  We had a small raffle for everyone as well.  A really enjoyable morning for everyone.

NEXT LITTER PLANNED - Flair and ?????  Winter 2007

6th November '06 The last boy in the litter has now been found a good home and is being collected this Saturday.  I will miss him a great deal as will Ellie and his sister Eysha.  The house will not seem the same without all the little monsters running around causing havoc.

25th October - Well all is quiet in the house now as all bar two of the pups have gone to their new homes.  The owners have all phoned me to say they have all settled in really well and they are all so pleased with them.

22nd October - Went to the LCGB Club Show today and had a great day with Flair.  She got 1st place in Junior (13 in class) and why I entered her in Limit I will never know at only 17 months old ??????  I must have had one of those senile moments LOL  Anyway she went on to get placed 4th (9 in class) at only 17months old.  I am so pleased with that result.

17th October - The time has now come to let my little bundles of fluff go to their new homes.  It will be nice to have my front room back again but I will miss the little monsters.  They are ready to go now, they are wrecking the garden, and just love to investigate every inch of it.  When I try to catch them it is like they have a sense that I am going to capture them.  So off they scamper as fast as they can to avoid me.

5th October - Well the pups have now reached 6 weeks old and they are running me ragged.  They absolutely love going outside in the Puppy run, and it takes me 20 minutes to catch them all when it is time to come indoors.  They are very forward going puppies with no fear of anything new.  They love to run in and out of my older girls legs trying to catch their tails in the process. Life is never dull in this household, with 10 pups and 4 bigguns LOL

16th Sept  All the pups are now doing really well, and are now starting to eat solids.  Not sure if they are eating it or just slopping around in it but comical all the same.  There is now only 1 dog pup left for sale.

27th August Very sad today as three of the pups have died 2 girls and 1 boy.  The rest of the pups seem to be doing really well now all weigh over a 1lb in weight.

24th August Ellie has had her pups 5 naturally and the rest were by caesarean.  Total born 8 bitches and 5 dogs.  Mum and pups doing well.

Ellie was mated on the 25th & 26th June to Tug, a big thanks to Carol Lear for letting me use such handsome boy.  She has been scanned for 8+ puppies and reservations are already being taken.  Puppies will be due around the 27th August

14th May' 06  National Champ Show, Stafford - Flair has done it again 1st in Puppy Bitch (10 entries) and she also gets Best Puppy in Breed and was in the shortcut for Working Best Puppy.

5th May 06  I have now moved to a beautiful farmhouse in the Staffordshire Moorlands, with 8 acres of land for the dogs to run free in all day.

29th April '06  Flairs first UK Champ Show - WELKS at Malvern, and she gets Best Bitch Puppy in a class of 12 puppies, she has already qualified for Crufts 2007.

10th April '06  Jems hip scores are in and they are 9:7, no elbow scores yet.

3rd April '06  Well Flair is finally here after 8 months of waiting.  She is so laid back and a joy to have here.  A big thanks goes to Julie Jones (Bavaruki) in France for doing such a great job with her.  If you ever import a puppy I would not hesitate to recommend Julie.

1st April '06  Great news I am on the move soon to a beautiful farmhouse in the Staffordshire Moorlands with 8 acres of land and I am starting a Boarding Kennels business.  Plenty of room for my Leos to run around all day.

31st March '06  Only 2 days to go now, Flair is now on her way to the UK and she is now registered as Estelle von Lowenkraft mit Vectiseleon.

28th February '06  All Flairs tests are now complete and she can come to the UK on the 30th March.  I am really excited now.  She will be at WELKS Champ Show in April making her debut in the UK.

19th February '06 Flair goes to her second show in Puppy Female at Bourge en Bresse, France, a Champ Show and she gains 1st Place.  She is beaten for Best Puppy by her Brother Emir.  Well done to both of them and to Julie Jones for handling her.

19th January '06  After a very sad time over Xmas, I am now writing an article on Parvo Virus for people to read and hopefully learn to understand this awful virus.  Look out for a new page on Health Issues.

9th December '05  Well done to Kathy & Pete Hay with V.V. Lady at Wolfen today at LKA at the NEC.  She went in at 13 months and got 1st place in Junior Bitch and then she also got 3rd Place in Limit Bitch against older bitches than herself.  To say I am over the moon is an understatement.  So it is off to Crufts next year to cheer her on.  Well done Lady.

1st December '05  Lady has got her hip scores back (V.V. Lady at Wolfen) Hips 3:4 and Elbows 0:0

20th November - Good news today from Angie and Dave Cairns - Luka one of my puppies has passed his Level 2 and 3 Carting Assessments today, way to go boy, really proud of you.

13th November 2005 - Took Ellie and Jem to the Eye Testing Clinic today at Malpas and was pleased that Ellie has now 3 years clear eyes and Jem has 1st year clear eye certificate as well.

I cannot believe that a year has now gone by since the pups were born.  This time last year I was knee high in puppies and paper and bin bags.  But when I see the pups in the their homes it is well worth the effort.  They are such well adjusted dogs, all have fantastic temperaments and they are a credit to their owners.

Jems sister Vectiseleon Vivacious Lady at Wolfen had her eyes tested last week and they are clear.

I went to Midlands Champ show yesterday with Ellie and Jem and they were entered in AVNSC Working.  Jem was in the Puppy Class and she got a third out of 7 entries and her Mum Ellie was in PGB and she also got a third out of 5 entries.  Well done my girls

Flair is now expected to be coming over to the UK after the 30th March 2006 and will be at Birmingham National in May 2006 all being well.

Planned next mating - February 2006 with Ellie (Bavaruki Angani) and Stud Dog to be announced soon.

11th September  Jem's sister -  Vectiseleon Vivacious Lady at Wolfen was placed 1st in Puppy Bitch at Richmond Champ Show in a class of 9.  Well done Kathy and Pete Hay and to Lady on a good result.

23rd August  Flair has now gone back to the vet to commence with the start of her Pet passport.  She is now 12kg plus and is having her Rabies injection today.  After 4 weeks she will have the blood test done and if the results are good then she will stay with Julie for another 6 months.  So I will have to wait until the 20th March 2006 until she can come to live with me for good.  Julie said she is a very bold and content puppy and her best mate. Marla is very good at leading her astray LOL

9th August - Flair goes to the vets for her microchip and first vaccination.  She is not bothered by going on a lead and collar and loves her trips to the vet.  She now weighs 10kg and is putting on weight nicely.  She is now good friends with Julies puppy Marla and I have no doubt that they will get into lots of trouble

7th August - Julie has sent me some new pictures of Flair, she has settled in very well in France and she is a very happy pup.  She has a great love of water especially her two front feet LOL  She will start her process on the 9th August to obtain her pet passport so she can come to the UK early in 2006.

Great news, Ellie's litter sister Scarlett is expecting puppies around the 15th August, good luck Julie and not forgetting Gary, Rach, Jane and Tony

On the 20th July I travelled to Belgium and collected my new puppy Estelle von Lowenkraft from Jeannine Donceel.  I stayed in a Motel overnight with my friend Julie Jones and her two older Leos - Diva and Nio.  She was as good as gold and was not stressed in anyway.  After a 9 hour drive we got to France where she will stay with Julie until she can come over to the UK.  She only took a few hours and she settled very quickly.  I have no doubt she will be a real live wire as she gets older - poor old Julie LOL  I cannot wait to go over early October and see her again, and she will be going to Cluny for her first show.  I am counting the days.

***Good News ***

I am importing a bitch from Belgium from the Von Lowenkraft kennel, the litter was large, 5 males and 11 bitches.  Her name is Estelle von Lowenkraft - "Flair" for short - see the Our Dogs page soon for recent pictures and pedigree
